In "The Case of Ritsu Onodera No.14," Masamune Takano still wants to celebrate Ritsu Onodera's birthday. Following an autograph session at Marimo Books for Nanako Saitou, Takano spontaneously decides he and Ritsu will go to Kyoto. While Takano buys the tickets, Ritsu runs into Saeki who introduces him to Arata Haitani, a former colleague of Takano's from Shuudansha. When Takano sees them talking, he gets irritated and drags Ritsu off to a train to Kyoto, where they spend the weekend in a hotel room. When they return Monday morning, they again run into Haitani, who notices they're wearing the same clothes from Saturday. Ritsu tries to play it off as a business trip, but to Ritsu's embarrassment, Takano insists the trip was for pleasure.

In "The Case if Ritsu Onodera No.15," Ritsu is concerned about the ratings of his author's manga and his future as the heir of Onodera Publishing. An uncomfortable call with his mother reminds Ritsu that he will inherit his family's company and he needs an heir. At work, Iori Satou's ranking dropped after the last issue, and Ryuichiro Isaka will be taking over as president of the company. It falls on Ritsu to pick out a gift for Isaka, and Takano accompanies him to the store where they run into Haitani. When Ritsu and Takano talk later, Takano correctly guesses that he had a call with his mother, which is why Ritsu's stressed about work. Takano asks if Ritsu took over for Onodera Publishing if he would quit Marukawa and move, but Ritsu isn't sure. Another day at work, last month's rankings have come in and Satou has risen in the rankings.
