Iori Satou (佐藤 伊織, Satou Iori) is a minor character in the Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi series. She is a mangaka working in the Emerald department at Marukawa Publishing.
Appearance[]
Satou has long, light brown hair that is tied in a bun with bangs hanging over her forehead and blue eyes.
When she is working on her manuscript, she wears her hair up in a loose bun. She wears long pale sleeves under a floral dress. In the anime, her dress is pink with a purple streak around the neck area with no floral design, and her sleeves are light green.
Plot[]
Satou draws a last-minute replacement manuscript for Emerald, starting it just three days before it needs to go to print. Ritsu Onodera and Masamune Takano help her complete the manuscript on the last day, which is Ritsu's first day at his new job. Takano wants one of the frames redrawn to be more dramatic, and to assist her with getting the dramatic angle right, he kisses Ritsu for her reference. She is able to finish the manuscript on time.
Ritsu later becomes her editor, and she's the second mangaka he manages. Takano once completely rejects her storyboard, forcing Ritsu to tell her to redo it. Satou is usually ranked 4th or 5th in the monthly rankings, but one time after a plot-driven transition chapter, her ranking falls, which Ritsu stresses about. Takano and Ritsu later visit Marimo Books and overhear some of Satou's readers excited to buy her newest manga volume, which eases Ritsu's worries.
Etymology[]
- The name Iori means "that one" (伊) (i) and "weave, weaving" (織) (ori).
- Iori's surname Satou means "help, aid" (佐) (sa) and "wisteria" (藤) (tou).
