Sanae Hoshino (星野 早苗, Hoshino Sanae) is a minor character in the Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi series. She is the ex-girlfriend of Yoshiyuki Hatori who currently works in printing at Marukawa Publishing.
Appearance[]
Hoshino has black hair that is swept to the right with a blue hue and brown eyes.
- In high-school, her hair was past her shoulders.
- As an adult, she has it cut chin length.
When Chiaki Yoshino sees her after she is off work, she is wearing a white blouse, a blue skirt and blue heels.
History[]
In high school, Hoshino was in Yoshiyuki Hatori and Chiaki Yoshino's neighboring class who was on the student council. She and Hatori dated for a awhile and the two were chosen as Best Couple at the Culture Festival, but Hatori ended the relationship for unknown reasons.
Plot[]
After Yoshiyuki Hatori broke off their plans for work, Chiaki Yoshino goes out for the day and happens to see Hatori and Hoshino talking together. While talking, Hoshino touches Hatori's hair and Chiaki becomes concerned that Hatori is seeing her again, which causes Chiaki to get angry and blow Hatori off later, but he goes to see Yuu Yanase instead. Chiaki asks Yuu if he remembers her, and he does, recalling some of their history from high-school. He also correctly guesses that Chiaki saw her and Hatori together.
Hatori later explains to Chiaki that Hoshino now works at Marukawa Publishing at the main office for Emerald's printers and he was chatting with her for work.
Etymology[]
- The name Sanae means "early, fast" (早) (sana) and "seedling, sapling, shoot" (苗) (e).
- Sanae's surname Hoshino means "star" (星) (hoshi) and "field, wilderness" (野) (no).
Trivia[]
- Yuu Yanase talks about Hoshino in a similar way to how he previously talked about Erika Ichinose, in which he describes them both as being pretty and says things that suggest a relationship between them and Yoshiyuki Hatori.
- This is presumably to get Chiaki Yoshino to lose interest in Hatori, since Yuu wants Chiaki to fall in love with him instead.
